Comfort's holiday season has a first step, and it isn't the parade. It's a stamp on a paper passport on Saturday, November 7. That passport doesn't pay off until the following Tuesday night. From there the season runs on a set of linked dates and split hours that tie together a dozen addresses on High Street, 7th Street, Front Street and 8th Street.
The passport drawing comes three days after Diva Day. On November 28, High Street's vendors close four hours before 7th Street's. December then adds three more dates after the big Saturday.
The Calendar, in Order
Here is every date the Comfort Area Chamber of Commerce has posted for the 2026 season so far, starting with Halloween:
- Friday, October 30: Halloween Bash with 3 Til Midnight at Cocky Rooster, 8:00 to 11:59 p.m., with free food, drink specials and a costume contest.
- Saturday, October 31: Trunk or Treat at Three Paths Distillery, 723 Front Street, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday, November 5: Comfort Chamber Mixer at Country Diner, 5510 Hwy 27, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. It's open to all, and admission is $2.
- Saturday, November 7: Diva Day, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., town-wide.
- Tuesday, November 10: Girls Night Out, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., around town.
- Saturday, November 28: Christmas in Comfort in the Historic District, plus the Christmas Market at The 8th Street Market.
- Friday, December 4: SOUPER BOWL 2026 at Riven Rock Ranch, 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

- Wednesday, December 9: Wine Down Wednesday, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., starting from The 8th Street Market.
Halloween weekend sits on Front Street. Trunk or Treat is at Three Paths Distillery at 723 Front Street, a block where the Comfort Backyard will host an afternoon stage four weeks later. After Halloween, the next date that ties into another one is November 7.
Why November 7 and November 10 Are One Event
The Chamber's Diva Day listing describes the day as one when "all the stores and the town is dressed up for Christmas." Merchants offer holiday selections, treats and drinks. The part that links it to the next date is the Passport to Comfort. You stamp it at each business where you shop, dine or drink, then turn it in at the end of the day for a chance to win two gift baskets worth almost $2,000 together. The winners are drawn during Girls Night Out.
Three days separate the two dates, and they run on different clocks. Diva Day is a Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Girls Night Out is a Tuesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the Chamber's Girls Night Out listing urging people to "stroll through town, visit your favorite local shops, discover something new, grab dinner or drinks." The Saturday is for daytime shopping and the Tuesday is for evening plans, and the passport is what ties them together.
The Chamber hasn't posted a list of participating merchants for either date, so the passport sends you out to find your own route along High Street. Two recent Visit Comfort profiles give you a place to start. 723 High, at 723 High Street, carries clothing, jewelry, home goods and gifts. MixHaus Gallery, a few doors down at 716 High Street, grew out of Studio Comfort Texas, which opened in 2019. Both are on the same block of High Street that hosts vendors on November 28.
November 28 Runs on Two Clocks
Christmas in Comfort falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, as it does every year. The Chamber lists 100-plus arts and crafts vendors, food, live entertainment, a Santa area for children, and an evening lighted parade followed by fireworks. The posted schedule gives the two main vendor streets different closing times.
| Where | What | Hours on Nov. 28 |
|---|---|---|
| High Street | All vendors | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
| 7th Street | All vendors | 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
| 7th & High | Food courts and drink booths | 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
| 7th & High | Live entertainment | 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Remedy Hall | Live entertainment | 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. |
| Comfort Backyard | Live entertainment | 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Santa area | Santa Claus | 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. |
| Downtown | Tree lighting, parade, fireworks | 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., after parade |
High Street vendors close at 5 p.m., but 7th Street vendors stay open until 9, so 7th Street gets four more hours. If the High Street booths are what you came for, shop them in daylight. Santa's hours run from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., inside the High Street window, so a family with young children can fit both into the afternoon. The evening shifts to 7th Street and the food courts at 7th & High.
The music follows a schedule of its own. Remedy Hall at 804 High Street serves beer on tap, cocktails and wine by the glass, according to its own site. Its live entertainment runs from noon to 6:30 p.m. on November 28. The Comfort Backyard at Newsom Vineyards, 717 Front Street, promotes music and wine, per Visit Comfort. Its stage runs from noon to 7 p.m. that day. The 7th & High stage goes the longest, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All three stages wind down between 6:30 and 7, the same window as the tree lighting at 6:30 and the parade at 7. The schedule clears the music just as everyone heads to the parade.
The Same Saturday on 8th Street
The 8th Street Market holds its own Christmas Market at 523 Eighth Street that day, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Chamber lists it as free and open to the public. It opens an hour before the downtown vendors and stays open an hour after High Street's booths close. The Chamber describes the property as two acres with several vendors and buildings and "thousands of vintage, antiques and architectural items." It's a different kind of shopping from the craft booths, and its 6 p.m. close leaves half an hour before the 6:30 tree lighting.
December Adds Three More Dates
After the big Saturday, December has three more dates, and two of them are evenings.
SOUPER BOWL 2026 is Friday, December 4, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Riven Rock Ranch, 390 Hermann Sons Road East, with soups from local venues. The next morning brings the 9th Annual CASI Chili Cookoff, Saturday, December 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Comfort Golden Age Center as the event contact. Soup on Friday night and chili on Saturday make that weekend the food-focused stretch of the season.
Wine Down Wednesday on December 9 brings back the after-hours shopping of November 10. From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., several stores in town stay open late, and The 8th Street Market at 523 8th Street is the listed location. It's two hours on a Wednesday, shorter than Girls Night Out, and it falls 11 days after Christmas in Comfort. That leaves time to go back for anything you passed up on the 28th.
Putting the Dates Together
Here's the full season, start to finish. The Chamber Mixer at Country Diner on November 5 is open to anyone for $2, two days before the passport starts. Diva Day on November 7 is when you collect stamps. Girls Night Out on November 10 is when the baskets are drawn. On November 28, start with High Street before 5, The 8th Street Market before 6, and the stages before 7, then finish on 7th Street, where vendors stay open until 9 and the fireworks follow the parade. In December you get a Friday soup night at Riven Rock Ranch, a Saturday chili cookoff, and a Wednesday of late shopping on 8th Street.
That adds up to nine dates in six weeks, from the Friday before Halloween to the second Wednesday of December, plus a second market running alongside the biggest Saturday.
